“Faith and reason are like two wings on which the human spirit rises to the contemplation of truth” (John Paul II, Fides et Ratio). Catholic universities often speak of both reason and faith as important bases for their intellectual project. Each is understood to be a way to pursue and appropriate genuine knowledge.
